Local Langkawi Nephentes at Mount Mat Chinchang

These pix were taken by Mr. Nazir somewhere on Mount Mat Chinchang a.k.a. Gunung Cable Car in Langkawi. Many thanks to him for giving me the pix and for not telling me the exact location of the plants for conservation reasons. Can anyone I.D. what species is this? T.Q.

Brunfelsia Americana a.k.a. The Lady of the Night

OK, interesting thing about this one:

1. It first blooms white.

2. Turns yellow the next day.

3. Turns white again the next days' night.

4. Turns yellow again the day after the next days' night. (I know it sounds confusing but the flower last three days, blooming white, then turns yellow during the day and white again during the night and yellow and white and wilt.)

5. It blooms at night.

6. It smells nice at night.

7. Doesn't have any smell during the day.

Plants Update- Nephentes Ampullaria Green

I got this one almost a year ago and it's growing nicely. Pitchers are about 2 inches tall. Second pix from the top shows a snail living inside of the pitcher.

Ok, last night I went to a jap restaurant with Ms. Halina & Ms. Mirinda. Got a bag full of little bags of high Q coffee and the makan was good, considering Ms. Halina got a complimentary lobster from the chef and the lobster was good. As last night was my first time to actually eat a lobster (I wont order anything that would cost more than 1 day pay) so ladies and gentlemen, I'm happy to confirm what I read on the net, that lobster tastes like crab, with a prawn texture, slightly abit chewier is true, but that's not my point.

After a holiday in Bali/Jakarta, Ms. Sufina and Ms. Mirinda acted strange. When I say both of them acting strange... I mean they're acting stranger than normal. Ms. Sufina got a "serious case of jet-lag", and Ms. Mirinda "suffered from a combination of things". She said, "no matter where you go, Langkawi is such a beautiful place, I dont know why people travel outside" among many other things.

That's weird.

But then again, I suspected that maybe it's something else. Something to avoid THE QUESTION.

and the QUESTION is where's my souvenir?

In case you're wondering who's this Madonna, well she's not THE Madonna, but simply Madonna John. She's such a sweet girl. infact, she's so sweet that I couldn't help myself from posting her SMS here. Keh, keh, keh.

Earlier today, she sent me another one saying " Guess what? Puk*ma* tol la boss ko tu datang at 1130 and kata takde meeting. He just ask us to come and meet it seems. Ciba* betul. Next time takde surat jangan harap I pegi apa2 meeting!"

To which I replied "Hello? My boss is your boss too, OK?"

Me: (In my head- Right, as if you can do anything now... Like swimming to fetch my package, or full refund, or treat me for a very expensive dinner!) Bila boleh sampai ni?

"Bee Hoon" (Vermicelli) Flower

Anybody can ID this for me? I bought this a few months back at a nursery in Langkawi.

The lady who owns the nursey says that she never seen anything like it and she only got one of them, after a few time coming and going and "persuading" her to sell and then "persuading" her to lower the price... It was mine for RM15, cheap right?

This plant has been flowering non-stop!

As my old camera died on me, assuming the hardware is the body and the software- the soul, the camera died for a second time... Mluats! I'm so not buying the model again (as if I bought the camera in the first place... But that's a different story. kah kah kah)!

I'm Out of My Mind!

Have you ever felt like this... When you drove for hour just to go to the beach and the moment you park your car at the car park, you changed your mind and then you realised, you dont want to go to the beach, you want to go to a waterfall instead.

Or like when you ordered something, a plate of spicy seafood pasta and the moment the waiter walks toward your table with your order, you realised... you would prefer something else, chicken teriyaki perhaps...

Or like when you longed for a very long time to go back to your parents, you begged for your leave at work and then when the day comes for you to leave, you changed your mind and stayed home for a week doing nothing instead...

The mind has a mind of it's own, I think it's more powerful than the person who owns it. Like the other day when I woke up early just to start jogging, my mind said to me "Listen be-yotch... If you do, you die!"

p/s: the pix was something that I did almost 10 years ago during my study... I imagined that I'd look something like that one day... Yeah, right!

The weird things that I did yesterday...

1. Woke up to find a pair of birdie making a heck of a noise at my balcony... House-hold quarrel me thinks, the female (assuming they're a pair in a conventional sense) or the "female" (assuming the birds are living an "alternative lifestyle") was nagging full blast and non-stop while the male birdie sits at one corner with his head down... A friend of mine once said... When a female member of the species talks without a period ".", that means she's on a period. ladies, your comment(s) will help.

2. Went to work early.

3. Arrived at the office way too early.

4. Twinning program with Sarawak, REDfm for approximately 30 minutes, all I did was nod my head, saying "yes", "That's interesting", "I See", "ooh, ahh", "mmmm hmmm"...

5. Cut my hair... 3 years of waiting, tons of conditioner and 3 years (I've mentioned that already but what the heck???) now I look like Nelly Furtado (with a little bit imagination and plastic surgery, not to mention boob job, nose job, gene therapy and sex op) Half of the length... GONE!!!

6. Did a double DJ thingy with Sharul Bahat! K.A.L.A.U. super special edition, Halina was at the station, Kak Lynn, Nurul and Usop, Khairul and Zaki... were there. I think almost everybody else from the office were listening, somewhere out there...

7. Came home to find... A Big Fat Cicak that defies the law of physics... How could something as stout and round and fat sticks to the ceiling???

It has been 5 months and 15 days since my last posting... I know, but I've been so very extremely busy, maybe not so, but I like to think of it that way...
